Hello
I installed latest ROSA Desktop Fresh R8 and I upgraded kernel to 4.6.7 from http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/kerne ... 6/release/. Now I would like to get rid of nouveau driver. Repository offers not latest NVIDIA driver, so I would like to use installer from NVIDIA web site. To run it I need to have kernel sources. But I can't find them. Is it possible to publish also package kernel-source for kernel 4.6.7?
Thanks.
Btw.: I see only nrj kernel version, is there also nrjQL?

I found devel package contains also kernel sources. So I was able to install nvidia driver 367.44 and it works fine.

Yes, most of the time one does not need the full kernel source tree. If it is needed to build custom kernel modules for the kernel, the corresponding kernel-*-devel package should be enough.
On the other hand, if you need to prepare a patch on top of the ROSA-specific kernel or do something else like that, you need the full source tree. You can get it then by installing the SRPM for the kernel (see http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/kerne ... 6/release/) and then running 'rpmbuild -bp kernel.spec' in ~/rpmbuild/SPECS. But this should be needed rather rarely, I suppose.

BTW, we are also working on the packages with this NVidia driver at the moment, although it will take some time to test it properly.trencan писал(а):I found devel package contains also kernel sources. So I was able to install nvidia driver 367.44 and it works fine.
As for the kernel versions from http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/kerne ... _personal/, we do not build nrjQL variants. This allows us to prepare new kernel packages faster after the kernel is released at kernel.org (no need to wait for the developers of the custom patches to update these patches).trencan писал(а):Btw.: I see only nrj kernel version, is there also nrjQL?
Niccolo Costanza prepared nrjQL variants for many kernel versions. However, the most recent are 4.1.x at the moment as far as I can see. The kernels are avaiable in a different repository: http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/kerne ... osa2014.1/

In case you still need it, the packages with the version 367.44 of NVidia drivers are now available in the separate repositories:
64-bit: http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/x11_b ... n/release/
32-bit: http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/x11_b ... n/release/
You can add the appropriate repository and update the system from there (actually, updating ldetect-lst should be enough). Then, you can use XFdrake (graphics configuration tool), as usual to install the driver and make other necessary settings.
It is possible that these updates will not be officially released for ROSA R8 due to the support policy but we can still provide them in the "unofficial" x11_backports repositories.
If things go well, other graphics-related updates will be provided there until the platform "rosa2016.1" matures, which is one or two more releases of ROSA, I'd guess.
