Can't boot anymore on X [Desktop.Fresh 2012.1]

Hello,

I can't boot on X anymore, the system is stuck on

tsc: Fast TSC calibration failed

I can however access shell via ctrl+alt+F2, and my packages are uptodate

Any idea where it can come from?

Kernel 3.6.10-nrj-dekstop x86-64
GPU nvidia 7600GT
CPU intel i3-2120 4 core
the driver seems to be nvidia-long-lived (while looking at drakx11, not sure if there are better way to look at this information)

last action that may be notable:
urpmi --auto-update (this action told me that i need to remove liveusb-creator by fedora because of some libgtk for i586 library not available)
urpmi virtualbox

I tried replacing the driver with nouveau. I still can't load X11 but there is no more the "TSC calibration" message...

Your /var/log/Xorg.0.log would be helpfull here. May be the *.old one, too, to see what it had with this "TSC calibration" thing. The Google says it may be related to the kernel, but let's gather the info first and wait for the devs to appear in the topic.

Add in bootscreen to grub2 command line this string

clocksource=acpi_pm“

And try boot

If work OK, edit /etc/default/grub (GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT) adding this line, than run grub2-update.

I did not notice some improvements with the grub2 string clocksource=acpi_pm.

I'll be able to make some other test only after 19:00 UTC (as it's my home computer who is "sick"
