Kernel 3.18.9 LTS for rosa 2012lts and rosa 2014.1
http://mib.pianetalinux.org/forum/viewt ... =38&t=4542

STATUS:
The available rpms are only for -desktop flavours, the reason is that we are currently testing if the known USB issues (locks/crashes) with 3.18 are finally gone,
the first tests seem to confirm that, if all is fine and all our USB transfers will be completed without any errors, I'll send to rebuild also all missing kernel flavours...

Kernel 3.19 arrives ASAP in its complex nrj & nrjQL flavours, for ROSA and OpenMandriva Linux OSes!

This is the current version of "nrj" and "nrjQL" stable 3.19.5 ;-),
all features have been already added and configured except TOI

This is our first 3.19.x version, so there can still be problems...

VMWare virtualization with Kernel 3.19
With the current VMWare 11 / VMPlayer 7:
VMWare can NOT work with Kernels greater than LTS 3.18, so it requires some unofficial patching ;-(

Here is the solution for the current VMWare with a kernel 3.19:
You must replace a file before VMWare can build its modules.

- Download and Save our fixed source file:
http://mib.pianetalinux.org/MIB/rosa2014.1/vmnet.tar

- GoTo :
Destination path is > /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source
and make a security backup of this folder or of files

- Copy/Replace original file with our one vmnet.tar to:
Destination path is > /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source

Now VMWare can rebuild successfully all its modules!

Kernel 4.1 arrives ASAP in its complex nrj & nrjQL flavours, for ROSA and OpenMandriva Linux OSes!

...considering that 4.1 will also be a LTS release." wrote Linus Torvalds in his regular message

This is the current version of the "nrj" and "nrjQL" mainline 4.1.0 ;-),
all features have been added and configured except CK/BFS,UKSM,TOI (these are not yet available for 4.1 tree)

This is our first 4.1.x, so there can still be problems...

Suggestion: before trying this, if you use proprietary drivers (for example, dkms-something) it's better to verify if these are already compatible with 4.1 kernels

On my desktop and laptop PCs, with Kernel 4.1.0, we have just verified that:
- Nvidia 3.49.16 builds and runs fine
- WMware 11.1.2 builds and runs fine
- My laptop (with I7) temp is lower (cooler)
