I was trying the Gnome 3.8 beta edition in Virtual Box. I like the various themes in Gnome edition and the system as a whole. Now the problem. In virtual box it runs very well, but when I try to install it on my computer with dual boot Windows 7, I face the following problems (I prepared the USB Live with Unetbootin, and its working) :
1. On live boot the OS runs in 1360x768 resolution and does not cover the whole screen, which is 1920x1080.
2. Even after the above problem, if I install the OS, and grub is written in the MBR, it does not boot. On restarting the machine, it simply says grub error.
I am forced to write MBR again with Win7 cd.
Can anyone suggest the solution. Earlier also I faced the same problem while installing the KDE edition of ROSA.
ROSA Fresh R1 Gnome 3.8 beta
Re: ROSA Fresh R1 Gnome 3.8 beta
You have problem with win7 partitions and may be with bios/system MBR write protect.
One usefull solution - full format harddrive, rearrage it for two part - win7 and linux and then reinstall win7 and ROSA.

Re: ROSA Fresh R1 Gnome 3.8 beta
I can'nt say MBR is write protected or not, but other linux systems work well e.g. Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Mageia, PCLinux etc.
Re: ROSA Fresh R1 Gnome 3.8 beta
If you see grub error, grub not installed in yor system. Do not use unebootin please - write ISO via rosa-imagewriter or dd. Unetbootin non-compartible with ROSA.
Re: ROSA Fresh R1 Gnome 3.8 beta
Well thanks for the quick reply. Ok. Will definitely try with rosa-imagewriter. My only worry is (as I am not much expert) after installation, the OS may run in 1920x1080 and hope there will be no problem in installing nvidia drivers.
