Here is another proof that Linux does not have to be boring.

This time, I recommend skins for media player called qmmp: https://code.google.com/p/qmmp/

Package install command in the terminal:
Code: Select all
urpmi qmmp

Skins for download at: http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/stan8_personal/repository/rosa2012.1/i586/main/release/

qmmp-skins-2.2-Stan8-rosa2012.1.i586.rpm - install the package by double-click.

Screenshot-1.png

Screenshot-Qmmp Settings.png

============================================================================================
At present, the only Linux distribution that has in its repositories package called "qmmp-skins" - that ALT.

Proof: http://pkgs.org/search/?keyword=qmmp-skins
============================================================================================

19.11.2013

qmmp-skins-2.4-Stan8-rosa2012.1.i586.rpm 10-Nov-2013 23:38 -> http://abf-downloads.rosalinux.ru/stan8_personal/repository/rosa2012.1/i586/main/release/

package contains
( ATER XMMS Skin ) & ( AA Skin Pack )

Emerald Theme Manager

Description intended for ROSA Marathon GNOME 2

The Emerald Theme Manager allows you to install, edit and switch between Emerald themes. In order for it to work, select Emerald as your window decorator. You will also need to enable the Window Decorations plugin (via CCSM).

As a window decorator, Emerald controls the appearance of your window borders; please see your desktop environment's own theme settings if you wish to change the appearance of things inside windows, such as buttons, menus and scrollbars.

Package install the terminal command:
Code: Select all
urpmi emerald

Screenlets

Screenlets is the name of both a set of independently developed widget applications and the widget engine which runs them. The engine runs primarily on X11-based compositing window managers, most notably with Compiz on Linux.

Code: Select all
urpmi screenlets

Applications-> Accessories-> Screenlets
Image

To achieve transparency , the items displayed on the desktop , you must :

1 - install Cairo-Dock
Code: Select all
 urpmi cairo-dock

2 - start
Code: Select all
 cairo-dock -c

System-> Administration-> Cairo-Dock (no OpenGL)

3 - save

Edit 17.04.2015

MATE users to get the transparency of windows, use the "Enable software copositing window manager".

System-> Preferences-> Windows
General-> Enable software copositing window manager
Image

Note: "Enable software copositing window manager" should be run before running the "Compiz Fusion Icon".

As for me, a lot of features (additives) does not work in an environment MATE

In case of a problem with the proper display of icons in the "Music" - should be:

1 - delete the file (link) called "folder-music.png"

2 - change the name of the icon in "png" with "user-music.png" to "folder-music.png".

Changes should be made in the "256".

The exact location of the directory: home/user/.icons/Vista blue/scalable/filesystems/256 /

W przypadku problemu z prawidłowym wyświetlaniem ikony w katalogu "Muzyka" - należy:

1 - usunąć plik ( dowiązanie) o nazwie "folder-music.png"

2 - zmienić nazwę ikony w formacie "png" z "user-music.png" na "folder-music.png".

Zmiany należy dokonać w katalogu "256".

Dokładna lokalizacja katalogu: Katalog domowy/.icons/Vista blue/scalable/filesystems/256/

FOR MATE

PieDockInstant It does not support some commands such as:
Code: Select all
mate-screenshot --interactive

Therefore, you should create a special script and put it in the directory: /usr/bin by means of "caja-gksu".

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh

DIR=$(dirname $(readlink -f $0))

mate-screenshot --interactive

Code: Select all
 /usr/bin/screenshot-mate

Installing the MATE environment for ROSA R6 KDE

Postby dareksmok » 17 Oct 2015, 20:44

Hello
Fresh R6 ROSA installed KDE on your computer. In the next step i installed environment MATE.

Unfortunately, after starting the environment MATE I could not connect to the Internet.

The solution was to install the package: networkmanager-applet

Install Howto

1 Enable ROSA Main repository on Install and Remove Software"
Update packages list:

2 # urpmi.update -a

Install networkmanager-applet rpm package:

3 # urpmi networkmanager-applet

http://pkgs.org/rosa-2012.1/rosa-main-release-i586/networkmanager-applet-0.9.6.4-1-rosa2012.1.i586.rpm.html
Network-manager-applet is a system tray applet which lets you easily connect to different networks. It is created for GNOME's notification area but it also works for other desktop environments which provide a system tray like KDE or XFCE. It displays the available networks and allows to easily switch between them. For encrypted networks it will prompt the user for the key/passphrase and it can optionally store them in the gnome-keyring.

You should also add the applet to autostart

System-> Preferences-> Startup programs

nm-applet .png

Code: Select all
 nm-applet

===============================================================================================
EDIT: 22.10.2015

After installing the MATE environment, it requires configuration.
Code: Select all
mate-default-applications-properties

System-> Preferences-> Preferred Applications

Applications http://mate-desktop.org/

If you use only KDE and MATE, you can install the old center known for Mandriva command:
Code: Select all
urpmi drakconf-legacy

If you are using LXED package "drakconf-legacy" would be in conflict with the package "lxde-control-center"

After installation: System-> Administration-> Computer Configuration

2 - Centrum Sterowania ROSA Desktop Fresh R6 .png

1 -Centrum Sterowania ROSA Desktop Fresh R6 .png

Jeżeli korzystasz tylko z KDE oraz MATE, możesz zainstalować stare centrum sterowania znane z Mandriva, poleceniem:
Code: Select all
urpmi drakconf-legacy

Jeżeli korzystasz z LXDE pakiet "drakconf-legacy" będzie w konflikcie z pakietem "lxde-control-center"

Po instalacji: System-> Administracja-> Konfiguracja komputera

Wine is a program which allows running Microsoft Windows programs (including DOS, Windows 3.x and Win32 executables) on Unix. It consists of a program loader which loads and executes a Microsoft Windows binary, and a library (called Winelib) that implements Windows API calls using their Unix or X11 equivalents. The library may also be used for porting Win32 code into native Unix executables.http://pkgs.org/rosa-2012.1/rosa-main-updates-i586/wine-1.7.10-2-rosa2012.1.i586.rpm.html

PieDock is a task bar and application launcher in shape of a pie menu. It feels a little bit like the famous OS X dock in a circle. Homepage: http://markusfisch.de/

PieDock - installation and configuration for ROSA Fresh Mate 32 bit or 64 bit.

1

Install the terminal, the following packages:
Code: Select all
urpmi libpng0

64-bit systems users install a package called:lib64png0

Install the terminal, the following packages:
Code: Select all
urpmi lib64png0

Code: Select all
urpmi libraries

Code: Select all
urpmi alien

====================================================================

2
Log off and log (option required)
====================================================================
3
Full automatic install or update:

The user's home directory, create a new folder, eg: Programs, then enter it and when you press the right mouse button, from the context menu select "Open in terminal".
Then, paste the following command ( necessarily as a regular user):

Code: Select all

When the installation is successful, the message appears:
"Congratulations! PieDock was successfully installed!

You may use one of the following combinations to make the menu
appear:

Shift + scroll wheel up
Shift + scroll wheel down

To fine-tune the experience, check out the configuration file at

/home/daro7/.piedockrc

You may now erase this directory."

And in the "Programs" will be a directory called "piodock-1.6.6"

PieDock we need to add to autostart:

Control Center -> Startup Programs -> Add

subsequently, we must provide the location of a file named "piedock" which is located in a folder named "piedock-1.6.6".

PioDock - autostart.png
My file location "piodock":

/home/daro7/Programy/piedock-1.6.6/src/piedock

Without this, the system is restarted ROSA, does not work - option:

Shift + scroll wheel up
Shift + scroll wheel down

How to add icons to the menu PioDock

Find some icons (approx. 128x128 Pixels) in PNG format. I'd recommend those places:

http://www.iconfinder.com/

http://www.iconarchive.com/

http://findicons.com/

http://www.iconfactory.com

http://www.smashingmagazine.com/tag/icons/

http://tango.freedesktop.org/

http://www.kde-look.org

http://www.deviantart.com

http://www.pixelgirlpresents.com/icons

http://interfacelift.com/icons

================================================================

Icons in PioDock, can be changed by adding or editing icons in a directory called "applications".

Home directory -> View -> Show hidden files -> .piedockr -> applications

piedock folder.png
My folder location:

home/daro7/.piedock/applications

Edit ikon.png
The names of the icons must match the name of the programs. The introduced changes will be visible after you log off and log on.

================================================================
7
How to increase the size of icons in the menu PioDock

You need to edit a file called ".piedockrc"

Home directory -> View -> Show hidden files -> .piedockrc

the size of icons in the menu PioDock.png
We change the value from 320 to 670. Save changes and then log off and log on.
